A Note to Readers

Hey Everyone,

Thank you all for joining me on my website as I write my original English Xianxia series, Painting the Mists. Your support means a lot to me, and it is my intent to continue delivering great stories to you.

Now before discussing anything else, I’d like to address the elephant in the room. The fact of the matter is that you can read the entire story online for free. I am currently posting on RoyalRoad and Webnovel, chapter by chapter, and you can find the story here.

Great. I’ve said it. Some of you may have bought the first book on Amazon before finding this site, while others started reading online. For anyone who has purchased a copy of the book, I give you my wholehearted thanks.

This begs the question: Why should I buy your book if I can read it for free? Ultimately, that’s something you’ll need to decide for yourself. The truth of the matter is that I don’t see a penny for my work unless people buy the book on Amazon, Kindle, or Nook.

To the readers who read for free: I get it. I read many things online for free. Often, people are in a financially challenging situation. Students read my books, and where are they supposed to find money for that? More to the point, you might not think that my story is worth it. That’s ok, and there are no hard feelings. I’m glad that you are taking the time to read my story, because a story isn’t anything without readers.

Thank you all very much for visiting this website, and please join the mailing list. I’ll be commissioning art periodically, talking about life, and sending out periodic updates on new product releases.
