I’m pleased to announce that Shifting Tides: Book 7 of Painting the Mists, is up for pre-order on Amazon! This book follows primarily Cha Ming, Wang Jun, and Hong Xin in that order. Can’t wait to read it on December 26th? Then pre-order it now and have it sent to your device as soon as it’s out
Here’s the synopsis:
A fire has been kindled in Cha Ming’s heart. Though his time with Yu Wen was short and blissful, her death has left a deep hole that needs filling. Cha Ming must transcend his mortal shackles if he hopes to find her again in the cycle of reincarnation. To that end, he journeys to Haijing to study alchemy with the world’s finest. Little does he know that the ancient underwater city is a linchpin in the struggle between angels and devils.
Meanwhile, Wang Jun seeks to solidify his influence within his family in Gold Leaf City. Concurrently, Hong Xin works to pull the remnants of the Red Dust Pavilion up by the roots. The deck is stacked against them, but they have little choice but to play the game. They must never meet, for their union would be a weakness neither one of them can afford.
The tides of war are rising, and no one in the Ling Nan Plane can outrun them.
And here’s a progress update on everything else:
Book 8, whose current working title is Shattered Lands, is about 25% complete. I’ll continue writing it after I finish my third draft of Shifting Tides and hand it to my editor at the end of Monday. My goal is to finish up the first draft of Book 8 prior to our wedding reception on December 28th, but we’ll see what happens. Some things just take priority in life. My long-term plan is to finish books 8 and 9 before looping back and finishing Violet Fate.
On the audiobook front, recording is going well. In preparation for the release, I’m having Book 1-4 covers remade to match the elemental theme and Painting the Mists banner I have going on. I’ll be releasing the new covers shortly, so they are available in print. Book 1’s remake is complete, and Book 2’s is on the way.
I think that about covers everything (pun not intended). Thank you so much for your patience in waiting for Book 7. I hope you enjoy it.
